Phase 1 of the UCSD Hillcrest Campus Redevelopment project is composed of a new Outpatient Pavilion (OPP), 50-stall below-grade parking structure with two levels of drop-off for the OPP (Spine), and a new Central Utility Plant. Morley Construction Company is providing concrete subcontracting services for the project, totaling 16,619 cubic yards of concrete.
The 250,000-square-foot Outpatient Pavilion will be an OSHPD 3-compliant outpatient and clinic facility consisting of four stories above grade and two stories below grade. It is a hybrid cast-in-place and structural steel building with concrete foundations, walls, columns, and cast-in-place decks, transitioning to structural steel with concrete fill-on-metal deck. The OPP connects to the Spine, a below-grade section of parking, circulation, and program area that will serve as the connector between the OPP and a future parking structure. The Central Utility Plant is a two-story, 10,000-square-foot above-grade plant with an adjacent equipment yard consisting of foundations, slab-on-grade, equipment pads, and fill-on-metal deck.
