Morley Construction Company provided concrete subcontractor services and reinforcing steel for the new FBI Field Office in San Diego, California. Previously working throughout multiple office locations, this new six-story facility will centralize government staff needed to support intelligence and investigative matters in Southern California.
Included in this Design-Build project (Clark Construction was the general contractor) was construction of a long-span 480-car parking structure, connected to the main building by a pedestrian bridge. The structure was designed to span over an s-curve of a site access road, with future potential for expansion to 600 parking spaces.
Inviting green spaces were incorporated for visitors and employees to enjoy. Sustainable elements include bike racks, low-flow plumbing fixtures, drought-tolerant landscaping, covered parking with photovoltaic array, construction waste diversion and recycled materials.
