1999 on West 3rd is a 100% affordable housing development in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles. The 72,000-square-footproject consists of construction of a seven-story Type III over Type I residential building with 137 studio and one-bedroom apartments. Amenities include a community room, fitness facility, yoga room, lounge, community room, laundry facilities, and over 10,000 square feet of open space. The building exterior features a scalloped stucco facade that undulates in and out from the building edge, keeping the building cool from direct solar gain and creating privacy on the busy 3rd Street. The project achieved LEED Gold certification.
