LAX United Airlines East Aircraft Maintenance Hangar & GSE Complex

Morley Construction Company provided concrete subcontracting services for the new United Airlines Technical Operations Center at Los Angeles International Airport. The facility includes two connected structural steel buildings totaling 407,400 gross square feet: a ground support equipment (GSE) and facilities maintenance building and an aircraft maintenance hangar. The ground support equipment building is approximately 50,000 square feet. The facility’s hangar is approximately 256,000 square feet and accommodates up to six narrow-body or two wide-body aircraft at a time.

 

Morley’s scope of work included foundations, trench drains and utility pits, slabs-on-grade, and slabs-on-metal-deck associated with the ground support equipment building and hangar, totaling 25,000 cubic yards of concrete. The project achieved LEED Gold certification.
