UCSB Bioengineering Building

UCSB Bioengineering Building

Morley Construction Company provided concrete subcontracting services for the Bioengineering Building at the University of California, Santa Barbara. This three-story multi-disciplinary facility serves the engineering and life sciences division of the campus. The building includes a basement space, a 100-seat auditorium for lecturing, along with wet and dry lab spaces and administrative suites. The LEED Platinum project includes the use of natural ventilation due to its proximity to the ocean, daylighting, and integration of geothermal and chilled beam technologies.

The type 1A structure incorporates cast-in-place architectural concrete, featuring both board form and smooth-finish architectural features.
